Welcome to our Earth and Sky Alchemy website and blog! We are Amy & Christopher Allen-Baker, life-long Earth lovers, stone and mineral enthusiasts, artists, writers, amateur astrologers, and spiritual seekers. We are co-owners of Earth and Sky Alchemy, an Etsy shop, where you’ll find rare crystals and mineral specimens, gemstone jewelry, and hand carved nature art: http://www.etsy.com/shop/EarthandSkyAlchemy
We have been creating together for over 25 years, and our travels have led us from the East coast to West coast before arriving in the “Land of Enchantment” of Northern New Mexico. The colorful skies, expansive landscape, and breathtaking views provided an endless source of inspiration. We are now living on the verdant East Coast, where the beauty of the four seasons, the majestic trees and lovely waterways continue to ignite our creativity.
Christopher received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and is a LEED Accredited professional. He has designed several green schools for the Pennsylvania school system. He has worked with many different mediums, and is currently creating hand carved nature art with stone, wood, and bone. Chris also enjoys writing, and is working on an Earth based astrology book with Amy.
Amy studied metal forming at Penland School of Crafts, and has taught design and jewelry technique classes. Her award winning artwork has included ceramics, painting, photography, and a variety of mixed media. She studied nutrition at Palomar College; and independently studied natural healing practices, astrology, and the metaphysical properties of crystals. Amy also enjoys writing, and is working on a women’s fiction book about the Earth, the Gaia Theory, and the fusion of science and spirituality.
Our collaborative artwork has been featured in numerous galleries across the United States including the Wayne Art Center, the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, the Kellogg University Art Gallery, and the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art. Our digital photography was published in Nature’s Best Photography Magazine’s Fall/06 edition as part of the annual honor awards.
Thank you for taking the time to “meet” us, and we wish you many blessings on your Earth journey! Peace and Love to all!
