Autumnal Equinox and Happy Birthday Libra!

The season of balance is here ~ Happy Birthday Libra! Today the Sun moves into the sign of Libra and it’s also the Autumnal Equinox, the time of year that ushers in cooler weather and shorter days for the Northern Hemisphere, and more light south of the Equator. Libra energy is harmonious, peaceful and balanced, charming, artistic and elegant. The symbol for Libra is the scales, and the next few weeks will have us seeking balance in all areas of our life, weighing out our choices and deciding what is right and wrong for us. Libra is also the house of partnerships, interpersonal relationships and romance. Libra wants everyone to be happy, they are natural diplomats and peacekeepers, and they’re one of the most likable signs. They are optimistic but struggle with making decisions. A wonderful crystal for Libra is Tourmaline. This stone’s energy is said to provide support for the choices Libras make so they can feel confident in their decisions. If your sun sign is not Libra, tourmaline is still useful because the zodiac energy of each sign surrounds us based on the time of the year.

John Wooden was an American basketball player and head coach at the University of California at Los Angeles. Born in the sign of Libra on October 14, 1910, John Wooden had a successful playing and coaching career, winning a total of 11 national titles as head coach, including a record seven in a row, and being named national coach of the year six times. He was the first player to be named basketball All-American three times, and was the first person to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach. One of the most respected coaches in sports history, Wooden is also remembered for his short, inspirational messages to his players, which were aimed at how to be successful in life as well as basketball.

Try baking some apple pies and sharing one with your neighbor; make a gratitude list and give thanks every day; visit an art museum or see a concert; take a hike or drive to see the changing leaves; carve a pumpkin; connect with friends and family. Libra season is about maximizing the amount of pleasure in every experience ~ Carpe Diem, #YOLO
