10 Gift Ideas for Leo

Happy Birthday Leo! We’re now in Leo season and it starts off with a triple dose of the Big Cat’s energy: Mars began zipping through Leo on July 20; the Sun roared into its home sign on Saturday night (July 22); and the first of two rare New Moons in Leo starts on Sunday July 23. (The second New Moon in Leo will be a total eclipse of the Sun on 8/21!) Regal Leo the Lion is a creative, fiery, fierce, loyal and confident sign, and collectively we’ll all feel a big boost of optimism coupled with a playful attitude, plus a little badassery to boot. Focused discipline might be hard to harness now, as we’ll feel like playing and roaming and indulging our whims. Sex, passion and romance will sizzle while Mars romps through Leo. Steer clear of those with towering egos and self-righteous stances, a downside to this transit.

July 23rd is the Leo New Moon. The energy of New Moons are usually low-key, but not this one. The Moon also conjuncts Mars and squares Uranus, so they’ll be lots of activity surrounding this transit, some of it unexpected, tense, or mind-blowing. This is a prelude to the rare second New Moon in Leo, a total solar eclipse happening on August 21st. When there are two new moons in the same sign, the Universe really wants us to “get” the energy of the sign. Leo rules the heart and spine, and metaphorically, the Universe is looking to collectively “strengthen our backbone” and learn to make decisions from the heart and from love, not our egos. We are being asked to work with our issues regarding authenticity, self-love, self-expression, and acceptance of our own and others’ unique individuality.
